Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 450 grams potato thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 590 milliliters heavy cream
  • pinch nutmeg
  • salt and pepper

Directions

1. Sauté onions until soft. Add potatoes and cream coating potatoes well. Season. Simmer until potatoes almost tender. Remove from heat. Recipe can be made up to here day in advance if stores in covered container in refrigerator.
2. Place potatoes in individual dishes or one dish so about 1 inch deep. Bake at 375*F/190*C/GM 5 for 15 minutes until done and golden brown on top.
