Ingredients

  • 110 grams dried red chiles 10 chiles
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 3 cups boiling water

Directions

1. Remove stems and seeds from chiles. Soak in boiling water.
2. Sauté onion in oil until soft. Add garlic.
3. Place chiles, onion, garlic and cumin in blender. Add 1 cup soaking liquid. Pureé until smooth. Stir in remaining soaking liquid. Pour into pan and simmer for 1 hour. Sauce should be smooth and thick.
